Reprocess documents
Use Reprocess to send selected document through the Process phase again. During reprocessing, Epiq Discovery obtains new document metadata, overwriting all of the existing document metadata. You can choose to keep the current file hash or recalculate a new file hash. The file hash acts as a "digital fingerprint" to uniquely identify each file. For information about documents that cannot be reprocessed, refer to About reprocessing documents.
Use the Search Builder to filter the documents. To use Search Builder, refer to Use Search Builder in Inspect.
Perform the following procedure to reprocess documents.
- From the Project page, click >.

Select the documents to reprocess.

In the Document Actions pane, click .

In , type a name to identify the reprocessing job.
- Select as needed. When extracting documents during the reprocess action, the file hash for Parent documents updates. As such, you cannot deselect Recalculate File Hash.
- Select to assign a new file hash to reprocessed documents. If you do not select this option, the document retains the previous file hash.
- If you only want to recalculate the file hash without overwriting any other metadata fields, select . You might find this option helpful when working with loaded documents or documents imported from other systems.
- Click . When prompted that existing metadata will be overwritten, confirm that you want to perform the action.

To view details about the submitted job, In the Project page, click Jobs Overview.

In the Jobs Overview page, when the Job Status indicator reaches 100%, in the Job Name column, click the job you submitted. The resulting Information dialog box contains details about the job, including the number of documents that were selected and if any documents were skipped.
